HIATUS

The Thomaz fam is picking up and moving from PA to SC this summer - yarntini will be on hiatus for the foreseeable future.  I will update everyone as soon as I have more information.  You can sign up for the mailing list here on the main page.  The Rainbow Cowl pattern will continue to be available although I will not have kits in stock.  Please message anytime if you have questions.

It's been a crazy 8 years and I appreciate everyone's support!

CYO Striping Club Membership Sign-ups - February/March/April

Posting this here in case all club members did not read the last email (as of 3/17)…

I have another update for you… it's not great news but also not the worst and I hope you understand.  With all that is going on around here, I've come to the realization that I will not be able to get fully caught up and back on the original timeline for this round of the club.  What makes the most sense at this point is to officially push the second and third shipments forward one month.  I'm finishing up the last of February's skeins and those should all ship before the end of March, March's skeins will ship in April, and April's will ship in May.  I cannot apologize enough for the delay and trouble.  I just want to be able to give each and every skein my full attention and get you the best stripey yarn I can possibly produce!

Please start sending in your second colorway choices asap, if you have not done so already.  For continuity purposes, the second skein will still show "March '14" on the yarn label.  I'm always available if you have color questions!

If you need one of your shipments by a certain time, as a gift, for example, please let me know asap and I will do what I can to accommodate the request.

Everyone's been so great with the delay and I appreciate your understanding so, so very much.    Message me anytime if you have questions, concerns, or need help with color choices.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!

*** I've probably already gone past my limit so sign-ups will need to close early!  Now ends at 12 noon eastern time on Monday the 3rd.  If you are a previous or current member looking to sign up, please email me at yarntini@yahoo.com. ***

Just a note that pre-orders for the 10-stripers will hopefully be available later in February or March.  You will not be able to get a 10-stripe skein through the club.

See earlier post for club details.  Choose your shipping option and yarn base.  Payment is made through PayPal.  Payments can be made by credit/debit card or eCheck.   One time payment for all three months.

Packages are shipped to the mailing address in your PayPal account.  Please make sure this information is accurate.  Contact me as soon as possible if your address changes at any time during this round of the club.  Club emails will also be sent to your PayPal email address.

Remember that if you choose 6 colors for your striping skein, there will be a $5 per skein charge that will need to be paid before your yarn is dyed.  You can do this for one, two, or all three skeins!  This button is under the Membership button and will need to be completed separately.  It will be available throughout the three months - you do not need to know now if you would like a 6-striper in March or April.

No refunds will be given once your first month's yarn has been dyed.  Please consider your color options carefully.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at yarntini@yahoo.com.

Please email final color picks to yarntini@yahoo.com.

Thank you and have fun!!!

More Club info

*** Updated with new listing time!***

I've had a few questions about the club... I'll put some of the answers here in case anyone else needs more info.

The PayPal button to sign up will go live here, NOT in the Etsy shop, at 10am eastern time on February 1st.  You'll choose your shipping option and yarn base and then will be taken to the PayPal website to complete your purchase.   Please make sure your mailing address is correct and the email address connected to your PP account is one that you check.

I've been asked how quickly the club sells out.   For the last two rounds I've been able to get everyone in that has wanted a spot.  I can't guarantee that this will be the case this time around, although I will try.  There's been a lot of newcomers to yarntini over the last month or so, mostly from Instagram I think.   I'm so happy for this interest and thrilled for the yarn love, by the way!  I will update here, on Ravelry, Facebook, and Instagram if it looks like all spots might fill up.

I'm still figuring out the best way to charge the extra stripes amount.  Not sure if I'll add a button here or invoice through PayPal once your color combos are decided.  I'll let ya know!

Please contact me anytime with other questions.  I will respond as soon as I can!

A couple notes for this round…

This will be the final club offering of 2014!  Our family is moving to South Carolina from PA sometime in June.  We'll likely be renting to start and I may not have a workspace for a while.  Hoping to get things back up and running by the beginning of 2015!

Since I am winding things down and needing to conserve space while we figure out the move, yarn-base choices will be limited to two.  House Sock and Premium Sock are both great bases for sock and non-sock projects - very soft and versatile!

Yarn will be sent out as completed.  The sooner you get your color choices in to me, the earlier in the month your skein is likely to ship.  There's a 99% chance that I will be out of town February 20 - 25th and no yarn will ship during this time.

I know there are a lot of newcomers to yarntini that hopefully will be signing up for this round or getting in on pre-order action later this month.  Thank you so much for your love of the yarn!  Please note that, like so many of you, I am a mom of two young kids and although I am 100% committed and appreciate every single skein of yarn and order, sometimes I am pulled away from work for family reasons.  I will alert everyone if there is a delay as soon as possible.  I handle every aspect of yarntini myself and do my best to balance work and home (although, as so many of you also know, not always easy to do when work is at home!).  Please email me anytime with questions!

Warm up those legs!

Let the yarn do the work with a pair of super quick legwarmers!

Materials -
Approximately 220 yards of dk weight yarn - I used one skein of Yarntini Top Shelf DK in Halloweenie self-striping
US size 6 set of 5 double-pointed needles

Size -
Approximately 10" in length and 14" in diameter when ribbing is stretched

Gauge -
4 st/in in ribbing when stretched

Pattern -
Using a long-tail cast-on, cast on 60 stitches (15 stitches on each of 4 double-pointed needles).  Making sure your stitches are not twisted, join to knit in the round.  *knit 2, purl 2, *repeat until end of the round.  Continue in 2x2 ribbing for 9 1/2 - 10 inches.  Bind off loosely and weave in ends.  Repeat for the second legwarmer and enjoy!

Pattern is easily adaptable to smaller or larger sizes.  Add or subtract ribbing stitches in multiples of four.  Please note that the legwarmer length will need to be adjusted accordingly if you would like to only use one skein.

Stripes, stripes, stripes

One skein of self-striping Top Shelf DK + a couple nights of knitting = a funky pair of leg warmers!  Super cosy.  I'll be wearing them under my boots come fall, for sure, and with leggings for a pop of fun color.  I'll put together a more formal pattern soon but it's not much more than casting on 60 or so stitches, knitting in the round in 2x2 rib using half of the skein, bind off, and repeat.  There are a couple skeins of Top Shelf DK in the Etsy shop now that are ready to ship and can have you casting on in no time!

Exciting announcement!  Starting in August, I'm trying out a new self-striping club!  Membership includes three skeins of self-striping yarn in sock or DK weight that will ship in August, September, and October.  Make projects using colorways that you created!!  Spots are limited.  Check out the Etsy listing for all the deets!
